About Us

About The Foundation

The Port Aransas Education Foundation (PAEF) was founded in August 2006 to raise funds used to create exceptional and enriching educational experiences for the students in the Port Aransas Independent School District (PAISD). Our goals and those of our supporters do not include aspects of test results but rather involve making available experiences and opportunities that will enhance education for the students at PAISD. We encourage PAISD teachers to think outside the test!

Who We Are

The Port Aransas Education Foundation (PAEF) is a local non-profit 501(c)3 entity established in August 2006 to provide funds for educational materials, events, and training not traditionally funded by school budgets.

Each year, we award funds to PAISD staff members via a grant process. To learn more about our grant awards, click here!

The board consists of Wendy Walker Moore, president; Vanessa Brundrett, vice president; Jana Snow, secretary; Kim Fon, treasurer; and board members Michelle Sowers, Beth Owens, Mike Hall, Rob Clark, Addie Belcher, Jay Kenigsberg, Michael Garlough, Tonya May, Tanya Chambers, Virginia Scott, Tracy Waight and Craig Griffin. We are all committed to supporting awesome education in Port Aransas.

Our Mission

The Port Aransas Education Foundation is committed to actively seeking community support to promote educational excellence within the Port Aransas Independent School District.

Our Goals

To foster innovative approaches to teaching and learning within the Port Aransas Independent School District

To empower the PAISD staff to continually learn, apply their knowledge, share their expertise, and lead their profession

To give the community an opportunity to invest in the future of Port Aransas through the development and encouragement of our children

To create a source of funding for the PAISD

Our Programs

Classroom Enrichment Grants - Provide funds for teachers to implement new and innovative programs in the classroom that promote advanced approaches to teaching and that enrich the learning experience for students and teachers.

Employee Development Grants - Assist employees of the school district to develop the personal skill sets needed to give our children the best possible education, through continuing education, seminars, workshops and/or conferences.

Campus or District Enhancement Grants - Provide funds to a campus or the district to upgrade or implement tools, activities, or projects which would enhance or advance educational achievement.
